When President Obama touched the 3+ million year-old bones of Lucy, July 2015,
he insightfully associated that with contemporary values of our shared, evolving
humanity.

Today in Hiroshima, his sense of tragedy was rightly detailed as a species Event
of inhumanity—yet, an insistance by the president of our freedom to prevent all war through diplomacy—through communicative action.

His remembrance was spoken to not only his local audience, but clearly to humanity, eloquently so. Also, he expressed a sense of American humanity that transcends that occasion.
