Accordingly, G7 democracies must prevail over the axis of autocracies. Where educational opportunity is weak, nations need to make it strong. Where voting is largely impulsive (and responsive to intensive marketing), nations need to instill the value of deliberative voting—and making time for reading and listening, time for dialogue, contrary to corporate interest in consumerist time and intrusion into free time by too many hours of work for too little benefit to one's quality of life. There's nothing wrong with loving nationality. That isn’t as such nationalism, inasmuch as citizens appreciate how international, multinational, and transnational dynamics work and can be advanced through local and regional engagement with each other in neighborhood, community, and local-through-national government. America is not simply advancing a nationalism through its economic and political leadership. It's expressing a globality that is composed of the peoples whose nations have secured their futures in democratic hopes and engagements. The general agenda for sustainability is not a mystery. Collaborative global political leadership must advance congruence between implementation of the Paris Accords, implementation of UN Sustainability Goals, and so on, while supporting investment in energy innovation, regional and local climate leadership, and ecological well-being at local levels. We should need to amplify voter support for electing leaders who are committed to advancing the systems that work (e.g., Paris Accords, U.N., G7, IMF, WTO, divine work of NGOs), and advance progressive policies in our governments. |
