‘Democracy’ is really a trope for good government that employs its power to bring more democratic process (shown best in face-to-face locality) into elected deliberative processes that legislate and administer governing systems. That use of power is the most educational aspect of political leadership, which I’ll call democratism, premised on genuine demophilia motivating political careers. Promotion and appropriation of deliberative democratic influence is the foundation of democratic trending in good government, as well as for evolving deliberative opinon in fair elections. But it all begins in appreciation of real lives appreciating their near-and-dear need of—and calling to—care. |
